Brett Baunton Bio

Brett Baunton is a professional photographer who is passionate about the natural world and the outdoors.
He lives in with his artistic wife Denise Snyder and Siberian Husky Luna in Bellingham, Washington.
Brett an Denise hiked nearly every trail around Mt. Baker, scaled many an alpine ridgeline and summited four times.
An image of Mt. Baker reflecting in a pond was his first photo sale that was featured in Pacific NW Magazine's "Final frame".
Brett’s photography is seen in publications including National Geographic, Nature's Best, Alaska, Audubon, Backpacker, Summit and Washington Trails magazines, in Washington State Tourism guides and local, national and regional calendars.
His Pacific Crest Trail image of Goat Rocks wilderness and Mt. Rainier is featured on a USPS 1st class stamp in the “Wonders of America” series. Brett's Mt. Baker photography is featured on display panels for the US Forest Service
along the Mt. Baker Scenic Byway at the Forest Service center in Glacier, and the end of the road at Artist Pt.

Brett's photos are on the covers of "The World Atlas" (Rand McNally) Denali Alpenglow, "Whatcom Places II" (Whatcom Land Trust) Mt. Baker over Whatcom County, "Wintergreen" (Sasquatch,) Hoh Rain Forest, "Forever on the Mountain" (W.W. Norton & Co.) Denali, and “Mt. Runners” film poster about the original endurance race to the top of Mt Baker and back. Brett’s large format image of Denali is etched into the Eilson Visitor center entrance in Denali National Park, Alaska and his print of Denali tundra detail travelled to the Smithsonian in the Natures Best exhibit.
His image of Mt. Baker won entry into the Art Wolfe Gallery in SODO Seattle for the NW Environmental Photo competition and Brett's images were selected for the "Only in Washington" show at The Washington State Convention Center.
Brett's image of Mt. Baker's glaciers retreating will be shown at the upcoming "Vanishing Ice" show at Whatcom Museum in 2013.

Brett Baunton is a photographer and custom printmaker. In the past he worked in Seattle's best pro photo lab darkrooms.
His company ArtScan is a fine art printmaking, scanning and color matching service in Bellingham.
ArtScan was the first and foremost film / art scanning and printing services in the Bellingham area for 20 years.
At ArtScan we use Drum scanners, film / flatbed scanners and archival pigment Giclee printers exclusively.
Artscan's clients are professional Artsists, Designers, Photographers and commercial offset printers.
After 20 great years Brett is working by appointment only at ArtScan to pursue his photography dream.
